Veg Chow Mein Recipe
Chow mein are stir-fried
noodles, the name being the romanization of the Taishanese chāu-mèing . The
dish is popular throughout the Chinese diaspora and appears on the menus of
Chinese restaurants. It is particularly popular in Pakistan, the United States,
Britain, Nepal, and India.
Veg Chow mein is a favorite
among kids and is liked by everyone. My husband and my son both favorite food
is veg.chowmein. If we use vegetables in a higher quantity, which will make the
food tasty and healthy at the same time. Nothing can beat the tea time hunger
other than Veg Chow mein. Here is a easy recipe of veg. chow mein.
Ingredients
- Noodles - 1 packet (150 grams)
- Onion-1(thinny sliced)
- Carrot -1 (cut into fine long thin strips)
- Capsicum - 1 (cut into fine long strips)
- Cabbage - finely chopped (1 cup)
- Green Chilly-(cut into long strip)
- Oil/Butter - 2 tbsp
- Salt - 1 (as required)
- Black pepper - 1/4 tsp
- Ginger - 1" long piece (grated) optional
- Chilly sauce - 2 tsp
- Soya Sauce - 2 tsp
- Vinegar - 2 tsp.
- Schwan sauce-1tsp.
- Heat water in a utensil enough to submerge the noodles easily. Add 1/2 tsp salt and 1 tsp oil in the water. Once the water comes to boil, put the noodles in it then let it boil for 8-10 minutes. Boil noodles till they turn soft. Turn off the gas. Drain remaining water from the noodles then wash with cold water.
- Heat 2 tbsp. of oil mentioned in a pan, add cumin, when they begin to splutter add garlic,green chilly and ginger fry till it begins to smell good.
- Add carrot, capsicum and cabbage in the pan. Stir the ingredients continuously for 2 minutes as they get cooked.Now we add salt and mix well. Then we add noodles, soya sauce, vinegar, chilly sauce,schwan sauce, black pepper,and salt(if required). Mix all the contents in the pan as you stir them constantly for 2-3 minutes on a high flame.
