Hibiscus (Gudhal) Tea
The
colorful hibiscus flower is cultivated worldwide for both its aesthetic appeal
and its medicinal uses, which are primarily in the form of tea. Although
scientific research has been limited, studies suggest that hibiscus tea is
beneficial with regard to several of its traditional uses, most notably helping
reduce blood pressure and control cholesterol. Drinking hibiscus tea is
relatively safe, but you should always consult a qualified health practitioner
before consuming it for its medicinal properties, particularly if you are
taking other medications or supplements.Hibiscus

It is is one of the medicine for reducing blockage in arteries as well as effective in blood pressure. It
has a tart, cranberry-like flavour, and sugar or honey is often added to
sweeten it.
The tea contains vitamin C and minerals and is used traditionally as a mild medicine. In west Sudan a white hibiscus flower is favoured for its bitter taste and is customarily served to guests.
Hibiscus tea contains 15-30% organic acids, including citric acid, malic acid, and tartaric acid. It also contains acidic polysaccharides and flavonoid glycosides, such as cyanidin and delphinidin, that give it its characteristic deep red colour.
Historically, hibiscus tea has been used in African countries to decrease body temperature, treat heart disease, and sooth a sore throat. In Iran, hibiscus tea is used to treat high blood pressure. Recent
studies have looked at the possible role of hibiscus in the treatment of high
blood pressure and high cholesterol.
Side Effects Of Tea: Hibiscus Tea can affect estrogen levels which means that it
has an effect of both pregnancy and fertility. If you are trying to become
pregnant or are pregnant, you should probably avoid hibiscus in your diet. It
also lowers blood pressure which can be harmful if you already suffer from low

Ingredients:
- Water-2 cup
- Hibiscus Flower-4-5
- Cinnamon(Dalchini)-1 inch small stick
- Lemon-1/4
Method:
- Rinse the flowers in water.
- In a pot heat 2 cup of water ,As soon as the water begins to
boil ,add cinnamon stick and boil the water again in 1 minute.
- Switch off the flame and cover the pot.
- Here we are using fresh flowers ,remove the green part at the
base of flower to which the stem is attached.And remove the pistil which is the
thin thread like tube in the middle of the flower.
- Add the flowers and cover the pot for 5 min. then strain.
- The color of tea is black. When we add 6-7 drop lemon and mix well.Then the colour of the tea become pink.Your tea is ready.
