Indian Style Masala Pasta/ Macaroni Recipe
Pasta is generally a simple
dish, but comes in many varieties due to its versatility. Some pasta dishes are
served as a first course in Italy because the portion sizes are small and
simple. Pasta is also prepared in light lunches, such as salads or large portion
sizes for dinner. It can be prepared by hand or food processor and served hot
or cold. Pasta sauces vary in taste, color and texture. When choosing which
type of pasta and sauce to serve together, there is a general rule regarding
compatibility. Simple sauces like pesto are ideal for long and thin strands of
pasta while tomato sauce combines well with thicker pastas. Thicker and
chunkier sauces have the better ability to cling onto the holes and cuts of
short, tubular, twisted pastas. Today we will learn how to make very easy veg. Indian
style masala pasta.
Ingredients
- Borges Penne Rigato Pasta-2 Cup(200 gm.)
- Onion -1 finely chopped
- Ginger - 1 tsp (grated)
- Garlic-2 cloves (grated)
- Carrot-1/2 cup chopped
- Beans-1/4 cup chopped
- Capsicum /Bell pepper - 1 cup (chopped)
- Pepper powder-1/2 tsp.
- Green Chilly-1(chopped)
- Salt to taste
- Oregano r-1/2 tsp.
- Olive oil or any oil - 3 tbsp.
- Tomato Puree-3(Medium size )
- Cheese-grated(3 tbsp.)
Method for preparing.
- Boil enough water in a deep pan, Add salt, pasta/ macaroni and few drops of oil .cook till pasta is cooked which will take approx. 5-6 minutes.
- Drain off to a colander and rinse in cold water. Set aside.
- Heat 2 tbsp. of oil mentioned in a pan, add cumin; when they begin to splutter add garlic and ginger fry till it begins to smell good.
- Add onions and fry until they turn pink.
- Add chopped capsicum,carrot,,beans,,green chilly and oregano and fry for about 1 minute and cover it.
- After 2 min. vegetable will be cooked. Now separate this cooked vegetable in a bowl.
- In a pan add ½ tsp. of oil and add tomato puree and cook in 2 minute. And sauté on a medium flame.
- When tomato puree will be cooked then add the prepare vegetables and mix well. Now add salt and pepper and mix well
- Add the boiled pasta ,mix gently and add tomato ketchup, soya sauce, vinegar and salt if required. Mix gently and cook on a medium flame.
- Switch off the stove. Now add cheese and mix well.
- Serve masala pasta hot
