Kids Favorite Roll: This simple Suji (Rava) Roll is a favorite
with my kid and is made very often for his school box. The filling is made by
sautéing the veggies in a Chinese style on a high flame which lends that nice
unique aroma. There are so many ways a veg roll is made, this recipe is my
own. |

Dough
Creation: 1. Take
suji and grind it and make fine powder. 2. In
a bowl take suji mixture, salt, oil and combine it. Knead into soft dough
using enough water. Cover the dough and keep aside for 5-10 minutes. Knead
again using some oil for 1 minute.
Stuffing
Preparation: 3. Heat
up oil in a pan. 4. Add
cumin seed (jeera), green chilly, garlic, ginger and fry for about 30
seconds. 5. Add
onion, capsicum, carrot and fry until it turns nice and soft. 6. When
vegies cooked well, add 1 tsp corn flour and tomato ketchup in a separate
bowl and mix well, then add this mixture into cooked vegies and mix well. 7. Turn
off the gas and add grated cheese (optional). 8. Mix
well and transfer the mixture into another dish. 9. Let
the mixture cool down a little. Making
Roll: 1. Take
dough and divide this dough into 2 equal portion of dough and make it nice
and even. 2. Spread
some dry flour on rolling board and put the dough ball on it. 3. Roll it into a small roti using dry flour, now apply ghee on both roti’s and apply some dry flour then join both roti’s. Roll this roti evenly to make a round shape, sprinkling more flour if needed. 4. Heat
up skillet on medium heat. 5. When
nice tiny bubbles begin to appear on roti after about 1 minute, flip it over
and cook for about 1 minute from other side as well. 6. Now
with the help of finger separate both roti’s carefully. 7. Now
take a single roti place the mix veggies stuffing in the center, you can also
spread some chutney on the roti’s, before placing the veg stuffing. 8. Now
roll both the sides of the roti. You can wrap them in butter paper or
aluminum foils from the base, so that while eating the stuffing does not fall
down. 9. Serve
