Instant Carrot(Gajar) Halwa Recipe


Carrot Halwa is a traditional Indian sweet or dessert made with fresh red carrots, milk and sugar.

It’s a winter delicacy and is made using the juicy red carrots. 

The traditional gajar ka halwa takes about 1-2 hour to make while this pressure cooker method only takes 15 minutes to cook halwa. A really big time saver. 

My mom makes the best ever carrot halwa and today I am sharing her simple and easy recipe to make this. Here is how to make carrot halwa (Gajar Ka halwa) recipe.
Ingredients:

  • Carrots-1/2 kg
  • Milk-1 Glass
  • Ghee-3 Spoon
  • Cardamom -2
  • Sugar-120 g
  • Khoya-1oo g
  • Almond and cashew - For garnishing



Method:

·       Wash the carrot and peel them.

·       Chop the carrot.
·     Add ghee in the pressure cooker along with cardamom powder, and fry for 20-30 seconds.



·   Add chopped carrot fry it and cover the cooker with lid and cook for two whistle on low heat for 10 -12 minutes.



·       Then let the pressure go down itself then open the lid .
·    Add milk and cook for 4-5 minutes on high flame.Stir at times and let the gajar halwa cook on a high flame till the mixture thickness.



·       Add sugar ,as sugar melts ,it become liquid. Let it cook for 4-5 minute or till the all the moisture evaporates and it becomes halwa consistency.


·       Add cashew and khoya and cook for 5-6 minutes on low heat .



  • At last add one tbsp.of ghee and turn of the gas.

  • Garnish with cashew and almond .
  • Serve warm.
