Potato Chips Recipe
Potato Chips is a thin slice of potato that
has been deep fried or baked until crunchy. "Making homestyle potato chips
is fun and easy. Potato chips are commonly served as a snack, side dish, or
appetizer. The basic chips are cooked and salted; additional varieties are
manufactured using various flavorings and ingredients including herbs, spices,
cheeses, other natural flavors, artificial flavors and additives.
Potato chips are a predominant part of the
snack food and convenience food market in Western countries.

Ingredients
Potato(large)-5-6
Water-2-3 litre
Salt or Sendha(Rock) Salt-1tbsp. or to taste
Salt - 1 tsp + as needed for seasoning
Oil - For frying Black pepper - for seasoning
Method:

First choose a large potato. Wash and peel the skin of the
potato.
- · Fill a bowl with water and place the potato slicer on top of the water bowl. Thinly slice the potato across the width. Make sure that the potato slices immediately drop into the water. This will prevent the potato slices from browning.

Once the whole potato is sliced up, wash the potato slices
nicely in water for 2 or 3 times until the water runs out clean. This will
remove any excess starch from the surface.
- In a wide pan ,heat 2 litres water till it comes to a boil.
- Once a water starts to boil add 2 tbsp.salt or to taste .
- Put all the sliced chips in pan after draining the water ,Keep the flame high.After putting chips the water will stop boiling due to drop in temperature.Let water come to boil again.
- Once water boils cook for 2-3 min.stirring in between.Chips should be cooked 70-80%. After 2-3 min.switch off the flame .Take out the chips in a strainer.

- · Immediately put the hot chips on clean cloth under sun for drying.
- · Ensure to do this step as soon as you take chips out of boiling water or else it will start to stick to each other.
- · Allow chips to dry for 2-3 days under sun until it turns completely dry
- · Potato chips are ready to fry.
