Urad Daal Ki Kachori Recipe
Urad dal Kachori is a North Indian Recipe. It is crispy and very good in taste. It can be made by filling urad dal into it. Urad dal kachoris are often served with aloo sabji or mango pickle in north indian states like delhi and U.P.
Mostly all purpose flour or maida is used for making
kachori,but we have used both whole wheat flour(atta)and all purpose flour
(maida).you can also prepare only with whole wheat flour.Urad dal kachoris are
made on festive occasions or for parties. So lets make urad dal Kachori today.
Ingredients
- Whole Wheat Flour(atta)-250 gms
- Maida ( all purpose flour) - 100 gms.
- Refined oil - 100 gms.
- Dhuli Urad Dal -150 gms.
- Kalonji or Ajwain seeds – 1tsp.
- Garam Masala - 1/2 tea spoon.
- Green chilli - 2 (chopped)
- Red chilly Powder-1 tsp.
- Jeera powder-1 tsp.
- Coriander leaves - 1 table spoon (chopped)
- Salt - according to the taste.
- Oil - to fry
Method:

In a mixing bowl or plate add wheat flour,maida,salt,ajwainor
kalonji,oil,and mix well properly. Then with the help of water make a soft
dough.

Now add the urad dal paste,jeera powder,garam
masala,red chilly powder and salt and cook everything on simmer until the
filling turns dry.

Seal the ends and remove excess dough, roll
gently again with a rolling pin.

Fry till the second side is also golden and the
oil has stopped sizzling.

Some of the kachoris will puff up and some won’t.
But its fine as they still taste good.
·
Remove with slotted spoon and place the kachoris
on kitchen paper towels, fry all kachoris this way.
